Dear Navy Housing Resident,

After several years of planning and preparation, PPV residents living onboard NAS Corpus Christi are now responsible for paying their electricity bills, and residents living in the Laguna Shores homes and SOQ?s are responsible for electricity and gas bills.

You will be involved in the Navy's Resident Utility Direct Pay. ista, along with the Navy and your Family Housing Management Company, will monitor your utility consumption to ensure that the billing program is fair and equitable to all residents.

We will provide you with a Monthly Billing Invoice which will provide your utility consumption information. In this program, you may receive one of four types of billing statements. The four billing statements are:

1)  Statement only - Gives status of account, consumption information, etc.  No action is required on part of resident or ISTA because the balance owed after utility allowance is deducted is less than $15.00 or the refund owed to resident is less than $15.00

2)  Invoice - Resident's amount due to ISTA exceeds $15.00 after utility allowance and payment will be made to ISTA for amount reflected on invoice

3)  Refund - Resident has conserved and earned a refund in excess of $15.00, therefore, resident will receive a check for the refund amount as part of this monthly consumption/usage information

4)  Mock Bill - Resident receives consumption/usage information but is not required to take any action until current lease expires

Your conservation allows the Navy to direct more money to housing programs. A significant portion of the savings will go directly toward housing improvements. Conservation also decreases national dependence on foreign oil and conforms to our national policies. With individual sub-metering you will be in control of the amount of consumption you are billed for. You can adjust your monthly use and take advantage of the savings. By monitoring your use, you can keep your monthly utility costs down and you'll also be doing your part to conserve, which benefits our environment.
